SPSIC application: what Brazil owners need to submit

The SPSIC is submitted online to the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) in the Philippines. The application requires your pet’s microchip number, vaccination records (including antiparasitic treatment), a photo of the pet, and proof of microchip.

Documents are submitted in PDF or JPG format. Files must be under 5MB each. If submitting multiple documents, merge them into a single file where possible.

Allow several weeks for BAI processing. The SPSIC fee is paid on arrival at the Veterinary Quarantine office at Manila airport. Keep in mind that the SPSIC is not a permit issued on arrival, it must be in hand before you travel.

Gulf hub routing from São Paulo to Manila

São Paulo Guarulhos (GRU) to Manila Ninoy Aquino (MNL) via a Gulf hub adds one connection but gives access to reliable live animal cargo handling at Doha (DOH) and Dubai (DXB).

Qatar Airways Cargo from GRU to DOH to MNL and Emirates SkyCargo from GRU to DXB to MNL are both established on this corridor. Doha has the slightly shorter layover time for Southeast Asia connections. Dubai has more MNL frequency.

From Brazil, some owners prefer routing via a European hub (Paris or Frankfurt) for the first leg, which can offer more cargo flexibility on the Brazilian side. The second leg, from the European hub to Manila via a Gulf or Asian intermediate, remains the same.
