What this route typically costs
Critical points
Singapore's listed status under EU Implementing Regulation 2026/636 removes the titre test and 90-day waiting period. The process is significantly shorter than for non-listed countries.
Denmark bans 13 specific breeds. Check the full list against your dog's breed before booking. Mixed breeds with characteristics of banned types may also be refused at the border.
The AVS export licence must be applied for before travel. Allow at least 4 weeks lead time as processing can take 2-4 weeks.
Approved carriers for this route
Not all airlines accept live animals. We book only with carriers that handle live animal cargo correctly.
What does a pet from Singapore need to enter Denmark?
Denmark follows EU Implementing Regulation 2026/636 as an EU member. Singapore is on the EU approved list, which means the FAVN titre test and any titre-related waiting period are not required.
The requirements are: an ISO 11784/11785 microchip implanted before the first rabies vaccination, a current rabies vaccination (21-day post-primary wait), an AVS export licence from Singapore’s Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS, under NParks), and an EU-format Animal Health Certificate (AHC, Annex I for listed countries) issued by an AVS-accredited vet and endorsed by AVS. The certificate is valid for 10 days from endorsement. No import permit is required, and there is no quarantine for compliant pets on arrival.
Denmark bans 13 breeds under the Danish Dog Act: Pit Bull Terrier, Tosa Inu, American Staffordshire Terrier, Fila Brasileiro, Dogo Argentino, American Bulldog, Boerboel, Kangal, Central Asian Shepherd, Caucasian Shepherd, South Russian Ovcharka, Tornjak, and Sarplaninac. Mixed breeds showing characteristics of these types may also be refused entry. Check breed status with FVST (fvst.dk) before booking. Denmark does not require tapeworm treatment.
Which airlines carry pets from Singapore to Denmark?
No direct cargo service operates from Singapore Changi (SIN) to Copenhagen Kastrup (CPH). All routings involve a European hub. Singapore Airlines Cargo (SIA Cargo) operates from SIN to Frankfurt (FRA) and Amsterdam (AMS), with SAS or partner connections to CPH. Lufthansa Cargo covers SIN to FRA with FRA-CPH connections. KLM Cargo handles SIN to AMS with AMS-CPH connections. Finnair via Helsinki (HEL) is an alternative with a HEL-CPH hop.
Confirm live animal cargo acceptance independently on both the long-haul and short-haul legs. Policies can vary by aircraft type and season.
How long does the Singapore to Denmark process take, and what does it cost?
Allow four to eight weeks from start to travel day. Singapore’s listed status means there is no titre test or 90-day waiting period, which makes this route significantly shorter than equivalent moves from non-listed countries. The main constraint is the AVS export licence, which can take two to four weeks to process. Apply early.
Costs typically run from EUR 1,100 to EUR 2,900. The AVS export licence adds SGD 50 to SGD 100 (roughly EUR 35 to EUR 70). AVS vet examination and EU AHC endorsement adds SGD 100 to SGD 300 (roughly EUR 70 to EUR 210). Cargo from SIN to CPH via a European hub costs EUR 800 to EUR 2,200. Danish border inspection runs EUR 100 to EUR 250. An IPATA agent adds EUR 300 to EUR 700.
